Position Overview

RDG is seeking a licensed and experienced Plumber or Plumbing Contracting Company to provide comprehensive plumbing services for our growing portfolio of residential properties, commercial buildings, and short-term rental properties throughout Belize.

This is a long-term partnership opportunity with consistent, ongoing work for reliable professionals who deliver quality workmanship and responsive service.

Responsibilities

Installation & New Construction

  • Install plumbing systems in new construction projects (residential and commercial)
  • Install water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures
  • Install water heaters (tank and tankless systems)
  • Set up water filtration and purification systems
  • Install bathroom fixtures (toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs)
  • Install kitchen fixtures and appliances (sinks, dishwashers, garbage disposals)
  • Install washing machine and dryer hookups
  • Install outdoor plumbing (hose bibs, irrigation systems)

Repairs & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues quickly and efficiently
  • Fix leaking pipes, faucets, and fixtures
  • Unclog drains, toilets, and sewer lines
  • Repair or replace water heaters
  • Fix running toilets and faulty flush mechanisms
  • Repair or replace garbage disposals
  • Address low water pressure issues
  • Repair broken or burst pipes
  • Fix slab leaks and hidden pipe leaks

Emergency Services

  • Respond to emergency plumbing calls (burst pipes, major leaks, sewage backups)
  • Available for after-hours emergencies when possible
  • Minimize water damage through quick response
  • Temporary repairs to prevent further damage until permanent fix

Renovations & Upgrades

  • Reconfigure plumbing for bathroom and kitchen remodels
  • Upgrade old plumbing systems to current standards
  • Replace galvanized or deteriorating pipes
  • Install modern, water-efficient fixtures
  • Relocate plumbing for layout changes

Vacation Rental Specific

  • Quick response to guest-reported plumbing issues
  • Same-day or next-day service for rental properties
  • Preventative maintenance between guest stays
  • Ensure all fixtures are functional before guest check-ins
  • Address issues that could result in negative reviews

Inspections & Preventative Maintenance

  • Conduct plumbing inspections on new property acquisitions
  • Identify potential issues before they become emergencies
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for repairs and installations
  • Recommend upgrades and improvements
  • Perform routine maintenance on water heaters and fixtures
  • Camera inspections of drain and sewer lines when needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid plumbing license or certification recognized in Belize
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional plumbing experience in residential and commercial settings
  • Strong knowledge of Belize Building Code and plumbing standards
  • Experience with potable water systems, drainage, and septic systems common in Belize
  • Ability to work with various water supply systems (municipal, well water, rainwater catchment)
  • Knowledge of water pressure regulators and pump systems
  • Experience with both metric and imperial measurements
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Own professional plumbing tools and equipment
  • Reliable transportation to travel between properties
  • Valid identification and right to work in Belize
  • Professional references from previous clients or employers
  • Physical ability to perform plumbing work (lifting, crawling, working in tight spaces)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hotel, resort, or multi-unit residential properties
  • Familiarity with coastal/saltwater environment plumbing challenges
  • Septic system installation and repair experience
  • Well pump installation and repair experience
  • Gas line installation and repair certification
  • Backflow prevention certification
  • Ability to weld and work with various pipe materials (PVC, CPVC, copper, PEX, galvanized)
  • Small team available for larger projects
  • 24/7 emergency availability
  • Business insurance and bonding (for contractors/companies)
  • Experience with property management or vacation rental properties
